Fitzroy Frogs is a friendly triathlon club based in Central Queensland that is affiliated with Triathlon Australia. We are the “Fitzroy” Frogs because
like the great river, we draw our membership from far and wide.
The club originated from the Frenchville Frogs Triathlon Club, setting a new course in 2017 to become independently incorporated with focus on:
Junior Development,
Social Development, and
Competitor Development.
Underpinning these is close attention to our development as a “Club”; where people not only participate and develop as athletes, but contribute
to our shared interests. For example, we want to develop our keen juniors into future coaches and technical officials..
Fitzroy Frogs would like to make a home of Emu Park.
FFT doesn’t need to tell you that Emu Park is a beautiful community. Our members frequently gather in Emu Park to swim at the best beach in CQ,
take a ride, run the foreshore and soak up the relaxed atmosphere of your township.
Recent changes to our club mean that we are looking to reinvent ourselves, which brings me to the point – “Fitzroy Frogs would like to make a
home of Emu Park”.
Despite what you may think, triathlon accommodates a wide range of participation, so perhaps it’s time to let your inner triathlete shine.
Triathletes come from various walks of life, including walkers that become runners, runners that become cyclists, cyclist that become swimmers
and swimmers that become runners – you get the picture.
Events vary but typical age and distance combinations are described in the diagram below (source Triathlon Australia).
Even if these events are beyond your current ability, we encourage you to come along and set your triathlon career in motion, by:
Entering an event that you know you can manage, just to become familiar, or
Perhaps you would prefer to join a team and learn from the advice and experience of others, or
What about a Duathlon (Ride-Run) or Aquathlon (Swim-Run) if you are not quite ready for all three legs?
