THE QUARRY SCULPTURE STUDIO:
Nestled
in the Cawarral hills, the Quarry Sculpture Studio is
a place where you can learn the processes of sculpture,
from modeling and casting to carving and construction.
Tuition is individualized as we arrive with different
experiences and skills. With guidance you will learn
ways of thinking about sculpture and how to use tools
and materials. You will leave very satisfied with a
sculpture for your house or garden made by you.
Most
students who arrive at the studio have no previous art
experience, just an interest and commitment to learning
a new medium. It is a place where ideas and experiences
from all age groups are shared. At the end of each year
an exhibition of the work produced over the year is
held at the Walter Reid Centre, Rockhampton. CLASSES
Four
ten week terms run each year in line with the school
holidays. You enroll at the beginning of each term and
continue to re-enroll as you wish. Realistically it
takes one and a half to two terms to make a very satisfactory
piece. Many students continue to make more than one
piece, trying different approaches, mediums and ideas.
WEDNESDAY: 9.30 - 12.30 or SATURDAY: 1.00 - 4.00
If you are unable to make a class you are able to make
it up another time. It is appreciated if all classes
can be made up within the term.
COST: $335 per ten week term (includes materials).

large sculptural commissions for large public institutions.
She has established the studio to develop the appreciation
and understanding of sculpture as an artform.
COMMISSIONS

is available to make sculptural works for public and
private spaces. Given a brief she will come up with
an idea and maquette for your approval. Upon acceptance
the full scale version is made. At all times Donna remains
