Congrats to the Oldies for taking out the 2005 match by 28 to 8.

Thanks to all those who attended and made the day such a resounding success.

Through your efforts we will now be able to present to the local cancer branch a cheque for $2,750.85.

The first ever challenge game took place in 1997 and it saw the Oldies exert their authority and run out winners by 16 points to 8.

The game raised $678.00 to the Cancer Fund

1998 saw the Oldies continue on their undefeated way with a convincing but hard fought victory by 24 points to the Youngies 16.

It was the first time that controversy had entered the event with the Youngies accusing the Oldies of bribing the Referee.

The days raised $2,535.10 to the Cancer Fund

1999 again saw the Oldies victorious and it appeared to the old brigade of supporters that the mean old machine in the red and white were unstopable.

They won 28 points to 18.

The 1999 day raised $3,129.67 for the Capricorn Coast Branch of the Cancer Fund.

Between 1999 and the year 2000 the youngies plotted to avenge the previous three hidings. With the help of some astute conscripting and the guile of coach Dinga White the youngies recorded their 1st ever victory against the ageing Oldies by 26 points to 22.

The game was played before a record crowd and raised approx $3,200.00

The year 2001 saw the cream rise to the top when the evergreen oldies inflicted a 30 to 18 defeat to the Youngies.

The game was played before another bumper crowd and the day raised the sum of $2,819.00 for the Cancer Fund

2002 .... Well, the Youngies were good, in fact very bloody good, but they just wern't good enought for the Oldies, as the Oldies ran out winners by the tune of 24 points to 20.

The crowd numbers were down on the day, but we managed to raise $1,100.00 for the Capricorn Coast Branch of the Cancer Fund.

2003. They did it, and I still don't know how they did it.

The Youngies WON!!! _____ HOW ????
Before a fantastic and noisey crowd the Youngies defeated the Oldies by the tune of 36 to 24.

The scores were locked at 24 all with 10 left on the clock. Rumour has it that someone spiked the oldies water bottles as they simply ran out of gas and the Youngies were able to run in three quick tries.

Incidently over 60 players registered to part take in the game, well done fellows.

2004. They did it again, the first time in our 8 year history, the Youngies have won back to back..

The Oldies are already preparing for next years "war". How dare they win two on the trot.

The Youngies used the superior fitness, and the good lords serving of very hot weather, to wear down the old legs of their more experienced foes.

The final score was 32 points to 16.

The Oldies were able to save some face after winning the final quarter of the game, when at the time they were reduced to two only capable reserves..

2005. OLDIES KICK SOME YOUNG BUTT .. (oh Yeah)

The oldies bounced back from the last two defeats to again enter the winners circle.

Played before another big noisey crowd the Olds ran in 7 tries to 2 to beat the Younguns by 28 points to 8.

The day was handicapped by continual power problems which resulted in unstable lighting as the game continued into the night. In fact the game came to a premature end due to just one to many power failures.

It was a great day for the Cancer Fund and through everyones wonderful support we were able to present the Capricorn Coast Branch of the Cancer Fund with $2,750.85

2006 saw the first drawn game in the history of the Oldies Youngies War.

The final score ran out at a 16 all draw

The game was cut short due to a dramatic power failure as a result of a light pole catching fire.

The unfortunate incident occured right at the end of the third quarter - after consulting with both captains and the Referee it was decided to call a temporary truce with the war to continue next year. (2007)

Although the oldies were on top they accepted the call and later into the night were regrouping, ready to roll.

2007 - Can't believe it another drawn encounter.

Final result Draw 24 all.

IN 2008 THE OLDIES CAME FROM AN EARLY 12 POINT DEFICET TO COMFORTABLY DEFEAT THE YOUNGIES BY 50 POINTS TO 34.

The power and strength of the Oldies finally wore down the Youngies who after starting like startled rabbits slowly succumbed to the power play of the ageless Oldies.

The youngies made the fatal mistake of trying to go through the Oldies defensive line instead of throwing the pill around and wearing down the tired old legs.

A ploy that had catastrophic results.

See you all down the Oval
