Primary Rescue Vessel "Gormans Rescue is a 9.6 meter
NU-Star Cat powered by 2X320hp Turbo charged Cummins diesels.
Secondary Rescue Vessel "John Sturgess" is a 7.3
meter Noosa built Shark Cat powered by 2X200hp Yamaha outboards. |

To provide security for vessels, trip sheets are provided
at our operations centre and vessels leaving Rosslyn Bay
are encouraged to fill one out before departing. We also
monitor the Marine radio network, keeping a listening watch
on 27 meg , VHF, and HF bands as follows:-
27 meg. - Channels 27.88 &, 27.86
meg
VHF - Channels 16 (emergency only), 21
and 22 (talk channels)
HF - Channel 2524 |

Weather
reports are broadcast by Rockhampton Met Office on channel
21 at 0520, 0705, 0920, 1205and 1705 hours. This Flotilla
also broadcasts the weather on channel 27.86meg and HF 2524
at 0703, 1203 and 1703 hours.
The Operations Centre at Rosslyn Bay operates on Fridays,
Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays between the hours of 0630
and 1800. The remaining days of the week are covered by
Coast Guard Flotilla QF20 at Keppel Sands., and night
times by our outpost radio operator. |

Regular courses are run by the Flotilla to qualify members
of the public in the operation of Marine Radios, and anyone
wishing to attend these courses should contact the Operations
Centre on 07 49 33 66 00.
